The  Gainsborough Packet engages with folk tradition, contemporary music videos and popular culture and being produced with a particular sensitivity to the shared legacy of folk music in Camden and Newcastle which stems from Stokes immersive research - Robin Grey is based in Hackney and has recently returned from a successful tour of Edinburgh's Fridge Festival, where he racked up 12 gigs in just one week! Time Gentlemen Please! - The Demon Barber Roadshow - video HERE- a must see if you have any interest in traditional dance Damien Barber took the bold decision to become a professional folk musician; raised in rural Norfolk and a regular (since the age of 5) at a folk club, his live performances and albums clearly marked him out as a traditionalist - it came as something of a surprise, therefore, when he put forward the idea of forming an electric folk group. They became The Demon Barbers. What the Demon Barbers play is electric folk, part of a process of embracing relevant new developments. The Demon Barbers took things a stage further, adding street dance (and dancers) to the mix. The show that developed from this, Time Gentlemen Please! is a full-fledged stage performance with an elaborate set, a dynamic narrative and a breadth which ranged from the paganism of the Abbots Bromley Horn Dance to the syncopated acrobatics of street dance - the show is a fusion of hip /hop  street dance with morris, sword and clog - The Cresset, Rightwell, Bretton, Peterborough, PE3 8DX - 7.30pm, doors open 7pm - £16.50 & £14 - box office 01733 265705 - Rockingham Rapper will be dancing at the Cresset also
