33rd WHITTLESEA STRAW BEAR FESTIVAL - Concert with Quicksilver (all about Hilary's voice and Grant's guitar-playing and writing. And the chemistry is indeed wonderful: the material (roughly half self-penned) includes all the things you can imagine doing with two voices and an acoustic guitar, plus a good few that you probably can't. Both performers are experienced pros, well known for their on-stage repartee, so the gigs flow seamlessly and are by turns moving, funny, relaxed and occasionally jaw-dropping) - and Pete Coe (His strong, distinctive voice is enhanced by his instrumental versatility, the ringing strings of his bouzouki, the sweet chords of his mountain dulcimer, the plaintive frailing banjo & the pulsing reeds of his melodeon. "it may be easier and quicker to list the talents that Pete Coe doesn’t have." Andy Kershaw, BBCworld ) - and Tautas Roks (bring their music to you with a bucket load of enthusiasm and pride. They generate a gutsy, traditional folk sound that marries the magic of a rock beat and a cool attitude. Our musical energy is upbeat, with a mixture  of songs and tunes creating an infectious sound) - Ivy Leaf Club, Gracious St, Whittlesey, Peterborough, PE7 1AP - tickets £9 from 01733 204055 on sale from 1 Oct - tickets for Straw Bear events generally sell out, so get in quickly!  see summary WSB tag on the left of this page
